Procedure
Fat Transfer
Fat transfer moves fat from an area where you have extra to an area where you want more shape, using your own tissue instead of an implant.
What fat transfer is
Fat transfer has three steps. Fat is removed with liposuction, usually from the abdomen, flanks or thighs. It is cleaned and prepared. Then it is placed in small amounts into the area you want to enhance.
Because the fat is your own, there is no implant. You also get contouring in the area the fat came from.
Areas we treat
- Buttocks, often called a Brazilian butt lift or BBL
- Hips and hip dips
- Breasts, for a modest, natural-looking increase
Who it is for
- You have enough fat in another area to move.
- You want a natural-looking change. Fat transfer adds less volume than an implant.
- Your weight is stable.
- You are in good general health.
What to expect
Consultation
We look at where fat can come from, where you want it, and how much change is realistic. You leave with a written plan and price.
Procedure day
Fat removal and placement happen in the same session. We explain how the procedure is done and the anesthesia used before you decide.
Recovery
Two areas heal at once: where the fat was removed and where it was placed. You will get specific instructions for both, which can include compression and limits on sitting or sleeping positions for a period of time.
Results
Not all of the transferred fat survives. Part of it is absorbed by the body in the first months. The fat that remains after that is generally lasting, and we plan for this when deciding how much to place.
Transferred fat behaves like the rest of your fat. It changes if your weight changes.
Risks
Fat transfer is surgery. Risks include infection, lumps or firm areas, uneven results, loss of volume and, rarely, serious complications such as fat entering a blood vessel. Buttock fat transfer carries specific risks that we review with you in detail before you decide.

FAQ
Fat Transfer questions
How long does transferred fat last?
Some of the fat is absorbed in the first months. The fat that survives that period is generally lasting, as long as your weight stays stable.
Do I have enough fat for a transfer?
Most people do, but it depends on your body and the change you want. We check this at your consultation.
Fat transfer or implants?
Fat transfer uses your own tissue and gives a modest, natural-looking change. Implants add more volume. We will tell you which one matches the result you describe.
